CALPE
Calpe, the artists town. An oasis in the most popular tourist region of the Costa Blanca. Calpe is the town of connoisseurs, the town chosen by the whole of Europe as its summer retreat. A privileged enclave beside the calm blue waters of the Mediterranean, where outstanding natural beauty, gastronomy, culture, the sea and the mountains are part of the everyday life of its inhabitants all year round. There are Museums, picturesque little streets and squares and many bars and restaurants, most of them with a lively outside terrace, an ideal place to spend a pleasant summer evening. Calpe will surprise you with its daring contrasts, where modern buildings and wide avenues harmonize with an ancient fishing village, where locals are proud of their past, yet welcome tourists and visitors with warm-hearted hospitality
Activities: Calpe is surrounded by four large sandy beaches that fall under the shadows of the imposing “el peñon de Ifach” or the rock of Ifach, and a beautiful protected mountain wilderness area. There are many excursions for the taking in of the scenery in the area for those who wish, also there are sports such as windsurfing, sailing, tennis, scuba diving etc...For the nightlife activities Calpe has plenty to offer with many bars and restaurants to supply some great entertainment.
Calpes Countryside: The municipal district of Calpe extends around a bay to the northern edge of the ever prominent PEÑON DE IFACH. The area is a declared a sheltered nature reserve, and has a great variety of endemic plants and numerous species of birds that nest on the rock. At the foot of the 332 meter (1090 ft.) Peñon, at its shadows are the ancient Roman salt flats and is a shelter to many migrating birds. In the inland region there are many cultivated fields which combine perfectly with the lovely beaches and cliffs for always a perfect view.

Location: It is extremely easy to access Calpe by road; there are two exits from the A-7 and it is 1 km from the N-332. There is also a narrow-gauge railway connection. Calpe is located 63 km from Alicante, and 21 km from Benidorm. The airports El Altet (Alicante) and Manises (Valencia) at 70 and 125Km from Calpe respectively allow a link with the main capitals through national and international flights. On the road, the main links are the A-7 (exit 63 and 64) at 8 Km from Calpe and the N-332 (Valencia-Alicante) that connects with the international network. The narrow-track train Trenet de la Marina that travels along the coast from Alicante to Denia stops at Calpe station, allowing a communication with the rest of the province. The regular bus service with a fluent timetable links Calpe with the cities of Valencia, Alicante, Madrid and Barcelona.
